Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, is a self-financing higher educational institution that started its operations in 1953 by establishing the first self-financing medical college as Public Private collaboration model. Over the years various institutions have been added and finally, in June 1993, this group of institutions have been declared as a Deemed to be University by the Govt. of India. Its excellent track record in academics, infrastructure, and research contributions and its standing in the national and international rankings, culminated in it being declared as an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University (IoE) by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, in October 2020.

Eligibility Criteria for Manipal & Bengaluru
For Indian Boards-Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject (Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams) as optional, from a recognized Board, with minimum 50 % aggregate marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects
The certificate issuing board must be established / recognized by An Act of Central / State Government, A Gazette notification of Central / State Government, Executive orders issued by Central / State Government
For International Boards
The eligibility is based on the qualifications recognized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi. Refer www.aiu.ac.in for full list of foreign qualifications, as equivalent to the Pre-University or 12th Grade qualification of India, for the purposes of admission in Indian Universities
For A Level- International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or GCE ‘O’ Levels (11 years of schooling): Equated to 10th grade of an Indian Board. Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level (12 years of schooling): Equated to 11th grade of an Indian Board. GCE ‘A’ Levels (13 years of schooling): Equated to 12th grade of an Indian Board. Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject (Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams) as optional subject in the ‘A’ Levels and English in the ‘AS’ / IGCSE / GCSE. Minimum grade required is an average of ‘D’ grade in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects
For IB-English, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science or any technical vocational subject (Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Mechanical streams) as optional subject (preferably Mathematics and Physics at HL level). Eligibility Criteria for Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology
Passed 10+2 or equivalent with 45% marks (40% in Reserved category) in physics/chemistry/mathematics for BTech Civil and Mechanical. Passed 10+2 or equivalent with 45% marks (40% in Reserved category) in physics & maths (mandatory) and any one from the following- computer science, electronics, information technology, biology, chemistry, informatics practices, biotechnology, technical vocational subject engineering graphics, business studies, entrepreneurship for BTech CSE and specializations.
Eligibility Criteria for Manipal University, Jaipur
The candidate must have passed 10+2 or A Level or IB or American 12th grade or equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and English as Compulsory subjects, along with any one of Chemistry or Computer Science or Biotechnology or Biology or Statistics or Engineering Drawing as optional subject for admission to B Tech, with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and the optional subject, put together.
Mode of Admission:
Manipal Entrance Test (MET) 2024 will be a common entrance test for admission to the BTech programs offered by Manipal Institute of Technology (MAHE Manipal), Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMU Sikkim), Manipal University (MU) Jaipur and Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru (MAHE). The entrance examination will be followed by an online BTech Common Counselling Process for MET rank holders only
But in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, the admission for BTech courses also made through JEE Main and SMIT Entrance Test (SMET)
In Manipal University, Jaipur, there will be direct admission if seats are available after MET. But the candidates need to meet one of the following criteria:
- Candidates have a JEE rank and qualified for JEE Advanced in that year
- Based on candidate’s SAT score
- MET 2023 rank holders, who could not come for counselling.
- All Students with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects and who have 60% or equivalent in PMX subjects in their 12th std. where X could be Chemistry, Computers Science, Biotechnology, Biology, Statistics or Engineering Drawing
