International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIITH) is an autonomous university, founded as a not-for-profit public private partnership (N-PPP) in 1998, and is the first IIIT in India under this model. Nasscom partnered with IIIT Hyderabad, as a founding partner during its inception in 1998, to put the plan in place towards making India a true talent hub for the rest of the nation. The other corporate founding partners are IBM, Oracle, Metamor, Microsoft, Motorola and Satyam. The vision was to build a dedicated institute that would focus on technology learning and research with very strong industry partnerships.
Over the years, the institute has evolved strong research programmes in various areas, with an emphasis on technology and applied research for industry and society. The institute facilitates interdisciplinary research and a seamless flow of knowledge. Several world-renowned centres of excellence are part of IIITH’s research portfolio. It has established various joint collaboration and co-innovation models with an industry outreach spanning significant national and multinational companies. Its innovative curriculum allows students the flexibility of selecting their courses and projects.
Apart from academics the institute provides students with a comprehensive environment that promotes art and culture, sports, societal contributions and self-governance. Even undergraduate students get to participate in ongoing research and technology development – an opportunity unprecedented in India. As a result, a vibrant undergraduate programme co-exists along with a strong postgraduate programme.
The Institute offers challenging academic programmes under the school of multidisciplinary computing, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, which encourage students to not only excel in different courses as per the curriculum framework but also carry out research in a chosen specialization. This School also offers research-oriented programmes such as Master of Science and Doctoral Programmes in advanced and cutting-edge areas.
IIIT is located in Gachibowli with a largely self-contained campus. Most of your needs will be satisfied with in the campus: hostel, mess, canteen, stationery shop, weekly film shows, etc. There is a nearby market within a kilo metre from campus where items of personal need are available. IIIT is about 15 km from centre of the city but well connected with buses and shared minitaxies (tempoes). Gachibowli is a fastest developing area in which several new software companies are building their campuses including Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft and others. As a result, many new facilities are coming up in the area. However, you will be busy with academic activities, and will go out relatively infrequently.
Different Modes of Admission (Seven):
1. JEE (Main) Mode of Admission for 4 Year BTech
