Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya (GGV), a Central University, is an active member of the Association of Indian Universities and Association of Commonwealth Universities. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited the University as ‘B’. The Vishwavidyalaya is named after Guru Ghasidas, a sixteenth century satnami saint. University campus is spread over 656 acres of land. Nature has bestowed campus with unmatchable beauty, immaculate blend of green areas and water bodies. The Institute of Technology was established in the year 1997 for promoting the technical education and to provide professionally qualified technical personnel to face competitive and entrepreneurial challenges. With the help of well qualified and experienced faculty, modern teaching aids, rich library, well equipped laboratories, computer facilities, other necessary infrastructure and modern amenities, the Institute is committed to produce career ready graduates who are immediately employable, self- reliant, self-esteemed & ethical to serve the nation.
Courses offered in the Institute of Technology are Ph.D. program in five branches of Engineering i.e., Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Industrial & Production Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The admission in the Ph.D. program is done through the Vishwavidyalaya Research Entrance Test (VRET) in every academic session. M. Tech program in Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. with the intake of 18 in each program. In addition, BTech Program in the seven branches of engineering.
Guru Ghasidas University has a dedicated Central placement cell to look after the placement activities round the year. The university provides a number of facilities like, library, hostels, guest house, sports ground, computer centre, bus services and a health centre.
