CSAB Supernumerary Counselling

CSAB-Supernumerary Round of Counselling is based on the JEE (Main) rank, for admission to supernumerary seats in NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, and SVNIT Surat for candidates belonging to Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. CSAB-Supernumerary Round will commence after the completion of CSAB-Special Rounds. The details of available supernumerary seats under various reservation categories in NITs will be available after the CSAB-Special Round and just before the start of Registration for the CSAB-Supernumerary Round. The Eligibility Criteria, Process of Registration, Choice Filling, Choice Locking, Seat Allotment, Payment of Fees, etc., are different from those of JoSAA/CSAB rounds.

Eligibility Criteria

All candidates, who were eligible for JoSAA-2024/ CSAB-2024 Special Rounds as per JEE (Main) 2024 Ranks and having their State Code of Eligibility as the UTs of Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands AND who do not have a valid allocated seat in NIT+ system, at the end of all rounds of JoSAA/CSAB-2024, will be eligible for participating in the CSAB 2024 Supernumerary Round of Seat Allocation.

Candidates who have been allocated seats in NIT+ system during the eight rounds of seat allocation (six of JoSAA-2024 and two of CSAB-2024 Special Rounds) and their last allocated seats have not been surrendered/withdrawn/cancelled are NOT Eligible for participating in the CSAB-2024 Supernumerary Round of Seat Allocation. In other words, candidates who were eligible for PI reporting at the allocated institute at the end of JoSAA/CSAB-2024 Special Rounds (as they are occupying seats) are NOT Eligible for participating in the CSAB-2024 Supernumerary Round of Seat Allocation.

In addition, candidates occupying a seat in DASA-2024 will NOT be allowed to participate in the CSAB-2024 Supernumerary Round.

Step by Step process of CSAB (Supernumerary) Counselling:

Online Registration:

All the eligible candidates are required to register online through CSAB portal at https://csab.nic.in Earlier registration at JoSAA/CSAB Special Round, if any, is NOT valid for CSAB 2024 Supernumerary Round. Online Registration by all eligible candidates will be allowed only once. Eligible candidates should log-in using JEE (Main) 2024 Application Number and Password of JEE (Main) 2024 or Password updated during JEE Advanced or JoSAA2024 or CSAB-Special Round (whichever is the latest). Candidates other than those whose documents have been verified at NIT+ System during JoSAA/CSAB Special Rounds, can update their State of Eligibility (XII Passing Place), Nationality and Gender during online registration in the following ways: Updating Nationality from any to any is permitted. Note that Only Indian Nationals are eligible for CSAB-Supernumerary Round. Updating Gender from any to any is permitted. Updating State of Eligibility (Passing Place of Class XII or equivalent): Any to any change is allowed.

Online Choice Filling and Locking:

All successfully registered candidates must fill in fresh choices of academic programmes. The previously filled choices during JoSAA/CSAB Special rounds (if any) stands NULL and VOID. The fresh choices are required to be FILLED CAREFULLY and should be saved frequently during the registration schedule. Candidates are advised to LOCK their choices after finalizing the choice list otherwise it will be Auto-Locked after choice locking schedule and same will be considered for seat allocation. Only after locking of choices, either by candidate or system locked, candidate can take print copy of locked choices.

Online Publication of Seat Allocation Result:

The choices finally submitted and locked by the candidates or system locked, will be processed with the approved Seat Allocation Algorithm in order of Rank and candidates’ preferences of academic programmes. Seat allocation will be done as per merit according to JEE (Main) 2024 CRL rank for the available seats. Candidates are permitted to fill choices for all the branches as available in the published seat matrix. Allocation will be made only for balance number of seats (after deducting seats filled in normal course of allotment in Home State quota from the total supernumerary seats for that UT).

Document Uploading and SAF Payment:

All candidates who are allocated a seat in the Supernumerary Round are required to upload the documents on CSAB-2024 Supernumerary Round portal. After seat allotment, if the candidate has uploaded all the required documents, she/he MUST pay the CSAB-2024 Supernumerary Round Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) online, the amount of which is given below. The SAF amount is ₹ 40,000/- for GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and ₹ 20,000/- for SC/ST/PwD candidates. The SAF includes ₹ 4,000/- CSAB Supernumerary processing charge. The SAF, excluding the CSAB Supernumerary processing charge, will be adjusted against the admission fee. Any fee paid during JoSAA and/or CSAB-2024 Special Rounds shall be adjusted towards CSAB-2024 Supernumerary admission fee after deducting applicable charges of JoSAA and CSAB-Special rounds.

Document verification:

Online document verification will be done for all the candidates who have successfully uploaded the required documents and paid SAF within the scheduled time. During the document verification process, there may be queries raised by Verifying Officers. Candidates must resolve such queries by responding online through their account on CSAB-2023 portal within the given scheduled timeline.

Physical Reporting at Allotted Institute:

All the candidates, whose seats have been confirmed, will have to report physically at the allotted institute as per the schedule and instructions published on the allotted institutes’ website and complete all the admission modalities. Candidates are required to pay the balance institute fee, as applicable, at the time of physical reporting. For such candidates the fee paid at CSAB will be transferred to the allotted institute after deducting the applicable processing charge.

At the end of Round 2 of CSAB Special round counselling, the seat allotted in the round 2 will be automatically locked and become your final seat allotted and can download provisional admission letter. There is no option of slide or freeze available in the final round of CSAB Special round counselling. The candidate can download the provisional seat admission letter form the CSAB portal and submit at the allotted institute at the time of physical reporting
