In the year 2002, Chitkara Educational Trust established its Punjab campus 30 kilometres from Chandigarh, on the Chandigarh–Patiala National Highway. In the year 2010 Chitkara University was established by the Punjab State Legislature under “The Chitkara University Act”. Chitkara University, the best university in Punjab is a government-recognized university with the right to confer degrees as per the Sections 2(f) and 22(1) of the UGC Act, 1956. The sprawling campus of the University is equidistant from Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ambala and Patiala. The University offers multi-disciplinary programs, all of which are designed to be industry-relevant. Eligibility criteria:
Allocation of seats will be determined by any one of the two criteria.
1.Based on the All-India Rank of JEE Main, the eligible criteria dictate that the candidate has passed with a minimum aggregate of 60% or secures 60% in physics, chemistry and mathematics in class XII, appeared in JEE Main (January & April) sessions, passed their 10+2 examination in the year 2023 or will appear in 2024.
2.Based on 10+2 marks, the eligible criteria require that the candidate has passed XII with a minimum aggregate of 70% or secured 70% in physics, chemistry and mathematics, passed their 10+2 examination in 2023 or will appear in 2024.
For BE Software Engineering in Academic mentorship with Deakin University, Australia, the eligible criteria include successful completion of class XII with minimum aggregate of 65% in physics, chemistry and mathematics, 65% in mathematics. In addition, 65% in English subject or achievement of a minimum score of 6.0 bands on IELTS English proficiency test with no band less than 6 or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) score of at least 570 (230 in case of computer-based score) plus a minimum score of TWE (essay) score of 4.0 or IBT score of 88 with no section below 20. Mandatory personal interview with academic team.
Documents Required

- Migration certificate from the Board/University last attended.
- Rank card of JEE Main.
- Copy of Aadhaar card.
- Character certificate as per the format given on the website.
- Medical fitness certificate as per the format given on the website.
- Reserve category certificate, if applicable.
- Affidavit signed by Executive Magistrate/ Notary Public required in case of gap in the studies for not being involved in any criminal activities during the gap period.

Counselling Process:
The candidates have to fill up the application form and attach the above copies of relevant documents and then submit in the enclosed self-addressed envelope for counselling process. The counselling will be offline where the candidates have to appear before the counselling committee on the date and time specified. All admissions will be subject to the verification of the original certificates/documents of the candidate.
Reservation of seats:
- 25% of seats are reserved for the Bonafide candidates of Himachal Pradesh in Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh
- 15% of the seats are reserved for the candidates of Punjab Domicile in Chitkara University, Punjab
- Allocation for the served categories SC/ST/OBC/Physically disabled/ others will be as per the policy of the state govt.
Fee Structure:
Program Fee is Rs.1,00,000 per semester at Chitkara University, Punjab for BE CSE, Mechanical. Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics & Communication, civil. Program fee Rs.1,30,000 per semester for BE CSE (AI). For BE mechanical/Electrical with minor in CSE the program fee is Rs.1,10,000 per semester. In addition, Education Technology Services Fee Rs.20,000 payable at the time of admission. Career Advancement Services Rs.20,000 payable along with the second semester fee.
Program fee is Rs.80,000 per semester for BE CSE at Chitkara University, Himachal Pradesh.
Program fee is Rs.1,75,000 per semester for BE software Engineering in academic mentorship with Deakin University, Australia.
