The beginnings of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham can be traced to 1994 when a School of Engineering was started in an obscure village named Ettimadai, at the foothills of Bouluvanpatty ranges of the Western Ghats in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu.
At that time there were 120 students and 13 faculty members. Today, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham has five campuses in three different states of India. There is a student population of over 12,000 and faculty strength of nearly 1500. Over 120 UG, PG and doctoral programs are offered.
When Amrita became a “deemed to be University” in January 2003, it was the youngest group of institutions to be conferred this status. As Amrita’s first campus, Coimbatore is home to the administrative headquarters of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

Selection Criteria:
Admission to BTech Programmes offered at Amrita School of Engineering – Amaravati, Amritapuri, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore and Nagercoil campuses for the Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 is through and based on the rank scored in: 1. Amrita Entrance Examination Engineering (AEEE) 2024 (OR) 2. JEE Mains 2024 CRL Rank If JEE Mains is conducted multiple times, all the scores released prior to the Amrita B.Tech. Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) will be looked into and the best result considered.
AEEE 2024: 70 % of the seat allotment
JEE Mains 2024: 30 % of the seat allotment
A candidate can choose to apply either through AEEE or JEE Mains 2024 individually or even select both.
There are more chances of getting the best academic preference if the applicant has both the AEEE 2024 rank and JEE Mains 2024 percentile.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates desirous of joining Amrita B.Tech. programs shall satisfy the following eligibility criteria
Age: Candidates born on or after 1st July, 2003.
Educational Qualification: A pass in 12th class or equivalent from a recognized board with not less than 55% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics separately and an aggregate minimum of 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics. Candidates passing out in 2024 and passed out in 2023 can apply.

Admit Card to attend the AEEE 2024 will be available for download one week prior to the date of the examination.
