IIIT-AGARTALA is one of the Indian Institutes of Information Technology set up in the country on PPP mode with the objective of making available facilities for higher education, research and training in various fields of Information Technology.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), now Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India intends to establish twenty Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) basis to address the challenges faced by the Indian IT industry and growth of the domestic IT market. The partners in setting up the IIITs would be the MoE, Governments of the respective States where each IIIT will be established, and the industry. On the same line IIIT-AGARTALA is newly established Educational Institute by the Ministry of Education, Government of India and few industry partners as Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP) Institution. This institute is an institute of national importance under act of parliament and is currently operating from its temporary campus at mentor institute NIT Agartala.
With highly experienced faculties and robust infrastructure supported by its mentor institute, the institute has broken many impediments which stood in its way of becoming an institute of national importance. Today, with its brilliantly organized courses, research opportunities, and through its commitments to achieve its strategic objectives, it charters out even further in its quest to be a Centre of Excellence shortly. Through substantive collaborations with industries, we are ensuring advanced laboratories and research facilities on the campus.
IIIT Agartala is an energetic and dynamic institute which nurtures students in multi-dimensional way such as technology, physical & mental health, personal & professional skill development etc. We enjoy the flexibility to quickly respond to the rapidly changing global socio-economic conditions and can efficiently adapt the best practices of leading technical institutes. Students from IIIT Agartala have also performed in a variety of contests and have held prominent positions in NIT Agartala clubs.
A series of events were planned to conduct under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) program which was announced by the Honourable Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on 31st October, 2015 during the Rashtriya Ekta Divas to promote engagement amongst the people of states and union territories in the country in order to enhance mutual understanding and bonding between people of diverse cultures, thereby securing stronger unity and integrity of India
