MNIT Jaipur was established in 1963 as a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan with the name Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur. Subsequently; on June 26, 2002 the college has been given the status of National Institute of Technology and on 15 August 2007, Proclaimed Institute of National Importance through Act of Parliament. The Institute is fully funded by Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. More than 12,000 students have graduated from the Institute, since its establishment.
Extending over an area of about 317 acres of lush greenery, the campus of the Institute is imaginatively laid-out with a picturesque landscape. It presents a spectacle of harmony in modern architecture, and natural beauty which enthrals and inspires. The campus of the institute consists of the institute buildings, halls of residence and staff colony. It is a residential campus offering accommodation to faculty, staff and students. The campus provides all essential amenities for community living like staff clubs, primary health centre, banks, post office, community centre, school, staff residences, gymnasium, playing fields, guest houses, 24 Hours internet connectivity, and canteen etc.
Cultural Society of the institute is an umbrella that shelters numerous clubs and societies. The motto is to facilitate and promote opportunities as well as platform for students to prove their mettle and to explore their passion through a plethora of interactive and innovative events. Participating in cultural pursuits helps you become more well-rounded and ready for the real world. They aid in students’ sense of belonging to the Institute and help them grow professionally and personally by honing abilities including planning, public speaking, and teamwork. Operating with an able team of students with the guidance of faculty, Cultural Society organizes an array of events continuously throughout the year with endeavours by hosting nineteen active clubs that meet regularly throughout the year. Namely, these clubs are Classical Music and Dance, Creative Arts, Dance, Debating, Drama, English Language Activities, English press, Film Making, Music, Photography, Poetry, Think India, NSS, Travel and heritage, literary, Quiz etc.
