IIT Tirupati founded in 2015 stands upon a vast expanse of 548 acres of awe-inspiring lush green campus on the foothills of the Seshachalam range. IIT Tirupati has become the epitome of a third generation IITs with an unwavering vision to become a leading center of higher education with global outlook and local relevance under the mentorship of IIT Madras. With the completion of Phase I construction, the campus houses a fully operational state of the art infrastructure in terms of classrooms, laboratories, workshops, hostels, and sports facilities which caters to the holistic development of students and prepares them to excel in their chosen fields. IIT-Tirupati offers undergraduate programs in five engineering disciplines, which includes Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The rigor and depth of academic curriculum in each discipline is meticulously crafted to impart adept knowledge and skills required for the fast-evolving opportunities in new engineering domains. The challenge of a demanding academic curriculum is fittingly met with the world class faculty to create a perfect synergy for stimulating learning experience. The campus currently accommodates about 1400 undergraduate and postgraduate students. Tech programs. The campus is developed with modern and sustainable infrastructure to meet green building standards and incorporate energy-efficient systems. The campus accommodates student hostels equipped with all the essential amenities to make it a home away from home for students. Nevertheless, in the event of a much-needed respite, the campus boasts exceptional connectivity with the outside world facilitated by its proximity to Tirupati airport (12 kilometers) and Renigunta railway junction, at a mere distance of 14 kilometers.
IIT Tirupati has 16 clubs related to Acting, Photography, Debating, Quizzing, Dance, Music, Trekking etc. IIT Tirupati conducts a plethora of extra-curricular activities for the students. These activities provide students a way to get away from day-to-day tensions and relax themselves. The Aranya trekking club conducts trekking activities at nearby trails and waterfalls. The Chaturanga club conducts chess events where students rack their brains on the 64 square battlefield. Traditional festivals are celebrated with great pomp and ethnic programs help students in connecting to their roots. Music and art events are also held by organisations such as SPIC MACAY. Tirutsava, the annual techno-cultural fest of IIT Tirupati, has been growing year by year. Our students also participate in the Inter-IIT Cultural, Technical and Sports events organized by the IITs. With thriving clubs and active support from the institute, IIT Tirupati provides a vibrant atmosphere for the students on campus.
